I was reading through some recipes recently and spied an ingredient… Vanilla Sugar. Well, I don’t have this, I thought. But that was easily remedied.
What I did was take a cup of sugar and break a vanilla bean into pieces and toss the pieces into the jar with the sugar.
Let the two *marry* for about a week.
The sugar will take on all that vanilla-y goodness and then you pick out the large pieces of the bean and strain the sugar! Store in a jar with a lid and label.
There are so many other neat ways of using this sugar….
*Sprinkle it on top of your muffins
*Add some to your morning coffee
*Wet the rim of a glass and dip it in the sugar for a little sweet treat with your water
*Dust some on your holiday baking
*Eggnog! Mmmm
*As well as using it in the recipe I found in the first place. 🙂
I hope you enjoy this little idea for yourself… just another simply lovely way to make your Season Merry. 🙂
My Cup Runneth Over…
