A couple of weekends back I decided I was going to try my hand at making some little dresses.
I had no pattern, so I ended up with a variety of sizes. Which is good when you try something new, you tend to learn from your mistakes. ๐
I most certainly did.
I made this one first, believing it should be around a size 12 month. And it is except for the neck. It is a bit smallish.
So this one is now about a size 9 month. ๐
This one is so much better than the first, isn’t that how it goes?
The colors are so precious and feminine.
I believe it to be about a 3T.
At this point, I remembered a tutorial my friend Chautona posted on how to sew the bodice together.
It went SOOOO much better.
The last has to be one of my favorites… my love of yellow and blue came through on this one.
What I didn’t show is that the inside lining of the bodice has yellow gingham fabric. Oh the little touches… How I love them.
Then, the yellow bias around the hem. SO sweet! I figure this one is about 18 months… maybe 2T.
I wanted to hang them on the line and take a picture of them all side by side on the laundry line, but it was a TERRIBLE storm and so, it didn’t happen.
There is hardly anything sweeter than little girls in sweet little dresses… well maybe they are equaled by little boys in overalls. ๐
